Ideas For Children | Summer Holidays
Summer holidays are here! Which is wonderful, but it can mean needing to entertain little ones who are used to spending days at school and with friends. In-between visits with friends, trips out and holidays, there also needs to be chill days at home. So we have come up with a few ideas on how to keep children entertained at home (especially when it is too hot or rainy to go out).
Reading
Reading books and magazines is a great way to keep kids entertained… and secretly keep them learning. Our latest find is the Storytime Magazine. Available to buy on the Storytime Magazine website.* There are also some free downloads available on the website, more great ways to entertain the kids.
Baking
Baking reminds me of my childhood. I have many happy memories baking and subsequently eating the delicious things I baked with my mother and grandmother. The BBC Good Food website has some great ideas for things to make with kids. Or you can find some recipes on our blog… including a delicious Rocky Road recipe! Or a simple homemade lemonade recipe.
Making
Making can also be a lovely way to spend a few hours. Painting, sewing or other activities can be entertaining, and teach them something new. Our solar lights arrive flat packed and a fun to make and can also be painted to create individual designs. And this Lumilight thatch cottage solar powered light is currently on sale. (young children will need help setting up the lights as there are small parts and the wood is light).
