You and Health in 2018
2018 is all about positivity and looking after yourself and others. There are always excuses for not exercising or not eating as healthily as you maybe should. (Believe me, we have thought of them all!) But healthy eating and exercising can improve quality of life, so we have decided it may be worth a try. Here a few ideas on ways to improve your health- body and mind, in 2018.
Health and Pilates
Pilates has millions of followers. There are different styles of teaching and a variety of reasons why people start practising. Dionne Blauw, director of Blue Pilates, teaches group and one-to-one classes in London. Dionne started learning Pilates after years of back-pain. She is now passionate about helping others get fitter, healthier and more positive. She spoke to us about some of the benefits of pilates:
Happy Tummies
As well as exercising your body, what you choose to put in your body makes a difference to your health. As well as eating a varied and healthy diet, this can include adding a few extra supplements to the diet. And companies like Just For Tummies have a variety of ways to help digestive health. We asked Linda Booth, the founder of Just for Tummies what her main piece of advice would be for health in 2018 – If people do just one thing to improve their health, especially their digestive and gut health, it would be to reduce their consumption of processed sugar. Switching off all devices before 9pm would be good too as people are exhausted due to lack of good quality sleep.

Healthy Minds
It is also important to keep a healthy mind. Eating and exercising well can have a positive effect on the mind. But there our other ways to keep your mind healthy.
Switch off every now and again, turn off all devices. (It is scary thought, but it is also instantly calmer). Clear your mind.
Meditation isn’t something that suits everyone. But there is increasing evidence on the positive affects of meditating. There are some lovely meditation groups you can join, or you can meditate in your own home with the If Meditation leaves you feeling a little blank, exercise your mind by learning something new. Or relearning something old. Keep your brain active by using it.
How are you planning to keep fit in 2018? Remember even a little change can make a big difference. And in our opinion, if you aren’t enjoying, stop. And find something that makes you happy.
