Autumn New Items & The People Behind Them
We at Home of Juniper believe the story behind things bought as gifts or for your home are important. The people who make them, or the way they are made. So we thought we would let you know about some of our newest pieces and the stories behind them.
The jewellery shown above is from made in Cornwall by the lovely Victoria and her small team of helpers. Victoria started making jewellery while on maternity with her first child… a lovely new member was introduced into the family this summer.
Mallow Maid – with have already done a blog about Sarah and her gorgeous treats, so you can read more about her here. But we have only just added her yummy marshmallow to the website as she has agreed to be one of our lovely drop-ship partners. All her Marshmallow is made fresh and shipped out from her workspace in the gorgeous Cumbria.
Llama wool slippers. Just added today. these sustainable, eco-friendly slippers are made in Europe. The wool used is sourced from the eco farms in a small country of Northen Europe – Lithuania. And the slippers are made in a family-run studio, harnessing the authentic felting methods and paying attention to the tiniest detail.
The family who make these slippers believe it is incredibly important to embrace the natural qualities of materials offered by Mother Nature. Like these gorgeous angel wing slippers.
As it is fair trade month, it would be odd not to mention a few of our new fair trade pieces. These gorgeous mini glass ornaments are beautiful for decorating your home in Autumn and Winter.
Made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, our gorgeous new throw (under the baubles) looks and feels beautifully soft. Furthermore it is the perfect, practical and environmentally friendly picnic blanket or sofa throw.
Stain resistant, machine washable and great for indoor or outdoor use. Mould resistant, incredibly easy to clean and hard wearing. Moths won’t eat them and dust mites won’t live in them, so they are great for allergy sufferers too.
The baubles and throws are by a fair trade groups in India in conjunction with the British entrepreneur Sam Brummitt.
