Tea Bowl by Sue Pryke – White Earthenware
Stunning Tea Bowl by Sue Pryke, in white earthenware. Each bowl is individually slip-cast, designed and made Leicestershire in the UK. These stunning bowls are a unique and special way to serve hot and cold drinks. These bowls are based on Chinese tea bowl design. But with a larger and more contemporary feel, they fit into any environment.
Made from vitrified earthenware and polished to give a smooth pebbly finish. The clay is fired to a high temperature until it no longer porous. As a result a stone like quality is given to the piece.
Each piece is individually made so there will be slight differences and colour variations in each piece. This indicative of the material and the hand made processes.
In addition, Sue has designed the shapes without a footring interrupting the base, something that mass manufacture methods would find difficult to achieve.
