Slow – Jo Peters Book Review

Published 2018

Summersdale Publishers Ltd

Slow  Finding Peace and Purpose in a Hectic World, by Jo Peters. A enjoyable coffee table book, perfect for anyone who needs a little more slow. A book all about slow living, with some tips and ideas on how to slow down.

Sections include ‘Slow Health and Well Being’, ‘Slow Food’ and ‘Slow Home’. Jo Peters talks you through some basic yoga poses and offers delicious recipes (including for Foraged Wild Garlic Pesto – something I am definitely trying). She includes paragraphs on the importance of saying NO. Alongside ideas of things to do, like going on a date with yourself and daily slow living rituals.

Interspersed with pretty imagery and calming quotes. Read as a book or dip in and out of to get ideas on how to live slow. It even has the odd puzzle and tips for slow moments of creativity. A pretty book which looks great on a coffee table and actually has some useful ideas too. And quite a few recipes we want to try. Slow is meant to be an interactive book. There is a notes section at the back, and a long list of websites to visit for if you want more in-depth information on anything in the book.

The lovely design and short snippets of ideas and information make it fun and easy to read. Great as a gift or for yourself.
