Plants in Living Spaces

Indoor Plants and Health Benefits

I have always had plants in my living spaces, there is something calming about having nature in the home. House plants are now widely acknowledged to have numerous health benefits. They are air-cleansing. Plants such as Ivy are especially good for this.

House plants are, also, recognised for their benefit on mental health. In a time when our houses are filled with technology there is something grounding about having a living thing in your home – especially when it is something that you have to care for (but is easy care). In a time when a lot of people are living and working in stressful environments mental health is even more important, and if a plant can possibly help why not try.

Looking Good- Plants Can Improve the Look and Feel of a Room

Plants in a living space also look gorgeous. Adding life and colour to a room. They are a wonderful form of home decor. And there are various pots you can put them in to make them fit into a room even more. Our black herb pot fits beautifully with the black trend that is tied into home decor this Autumn/Winter. And adds a depth to the plants. (It is also fair trade, and coated with a paint so you can write on it with chalk… Either what the plant is, or just a message to a loved one).

There are thousands of types of plant types and to choose from. Some of my  favourite include trailing ivy, succulents (another trend you can’t have missed this year.) Fig Trees and Peace Lily’s. (For indoor, I have  different list for outdoor). The plant savvy among you will have noticed that these are all easy care… this is because easy care plants are the only ones that I manage to keep alive. I have a plant in every room of the house. Including the bathroom, but I haven’t braved a ‘shower-plant’ yet.

Do you have a favourite plant? Or a favourite place to display them? Have you braved the shower plant. Feel free to comment below with any plant care tips or comments on house plants you may have.
