Rann Bedding Set

Each May we concentrate on the things that make us (and you) happy. One of these things is a good nights sleep. Everyone feels better when they wake up after sleeping well, and one of the things that helps you sleep well is a comfortable place to lay your head. Sleeping well is even easier when you know you are laying on bedlinen which has been fairly made from natural, sustainable cotton. Ara Living are a relatively new brand with beautiful, modern designs who have wonderful ethics surrounding the production of these wonderful pieces. We were lucky enough to catch up with one half of Ara Living’s leadership team, Himanshi.  Read more

How to get Modern Rustic

Modern Rustic is a little bit of a oxymoron. That is maybe why other names for this trend are being used. The main feature of this trend is the ability to blend aspects of contemporary style with features of a traditional British country home. Using simple designs and neutral colours you can create an environment that it is both modern and homely. Read more

Scented candle on wool Blanket – Home of Juniper

Even in the most frenetic world, there needs to be one place which induces calm and relaxation.
That place is your home.

When you close your front door on the madness outside, you should feel an innate sense of calm flooding your body, and an impression of having just stepped into your very own sanctuary.

Fortunately, there are ways to achieve a more zen-like atmosphere to your home without having a complete overhaul, or even re-decorating (because we all know how much added stress that can bring!) Read more

Wood | The family edit

baking-spoon-sustainable-beech=wood=baking-homeofjuniper

I have always loved wood. I think I may have mentioned this before. A few times. Which is partly why we were excited when this wonderful, family run company decided to join us. Not only is it run by a family in Wales, they also work with families across Europe. There beautiful wood products are made from sustainable sourced wood. Currently Home of Juniper stock their Beech (shown in the image above, this lovely light wood looks beautiful in a kitchen) and Cherry wood products but we have our eye on a few other pieces we will plan on introducing in autumn. Another lovely thing about these kitchen and dining products is that they are affordable, prices start at 95p. This means you don’t feel guilty buying them for yourself. They also make gorgeous gifts for someone who loves to cook or bake, either single products or gift sets. Remember if you ever want us to mix and match products into a gift set to just email us ([email protected]) Read more

Concrete.

Concrete is back. Invented in the nineteenth century, it reached new design heights in the 60s. High polished concrete was used as flooring, buildings were built with concrete used not only as a useful material, but also a design …. I have to be honest, I have never been a fan of this trend. I have alway preferred brick or stone covered houses, and wood flooring. I grew up disliking these towering concrete blocks. But concrete is once again becoming synonymous with contemporary design, architecture and interiors, and this time I like a lot of what I see. Read more
